Sandwich Party reminder
Next weekend people. November 27-29.
Once again, Elsa does a better job than me with sandwich-related information.
National Sandwich Day [Updated Twice Now]
Because there has to be one.
Nov. 3 is the anniversary of John Montagu’s birthday. It’s believed that this 18th-century English noble, better known as the fourth Earl of Sandwich, wanted to eat with one hand during a 24-hour gambling bender. So, he instructed his servants to serve him his lunch meat between two pieces of bread. To celebrate the occasion, Nov. 3 is officially “National Sandwich Day.”

Regular readers know what this means: SANDWICH PARTY! Elsa and I are announcing today that another Sandwich Party is scheduled for November 27-29.
More later. As usual, Elsa does it better.
Dudes: Don’t post sandwich party stuff over at Facebook. Email me here at jagosaurus[at]mac.com if you have trouble commenting. Thanks.
Sandwich Party III is now open
Subtitle: Simon is an overachiever.
The Sandwich Party is this weekend. If you are new to this site or planet, information can be found here. Photos here. Meanwhile, Sandwich Party co-host Elsa is off having a life this weekend. THE NERVE.
Don’t forget the official Sandwich Party image.
My sandwich will be as much a surprise to me as to you. Stay tuned.
One week until the sandwich party
Elsa is, as per usual, much more on top of things than I am.
The Sandwich Party is April 3-5. We all know you don’t have anything better to do than make, photograph, and write about sandwiches next weekend.
The Party of the Sandwich, April 3, 4, and 5
Nothing says spring like a sandwich!
Elsa and I have decided that another sandwich party is in order. Mark your calendars and prep your scanners for we have determined that the first weekend in April (April 3, 4, and 5) is the time.
If you’ve participated before, then you know the drill. If you have not, let me direct you here.
Please enjoy this example sandwich from the fine folks at Isoglossia:
Who’s hungry?
The Sandwich Party is officially open (updated)
Okay people. No pushing or crowding. Form a single file line…
We already have one entry from Europe.
You can link to your Sandwich Party posts in the comments of this post or this one or this one. You can add your photos here if you like. We’ll collect them all and put them here eventually.
…
So. Who’s hungry? Besides me, I mean.
Update: My contribution seems more like an art project than a sandwich. Tasty though:

Ingredients: nectarine, cherries, green gage plum, cantaloupe, cilantro and salt and pepper cheddar cheese from Fields of Grace Farm.
Return of the Sandwich Party: July 25-27
Despite the terrible temptation to plagiarize Elsa’s excellent post about this, I will make a feeble attempt to write something creative about the upcoming sequel to the original Sandwich Party, which I am calling Return of the Sandwich Party.
…
See? It’s really easy. Everybody likes sandwiches. Sandwiches can be made with any ingredients you’d like. You don’t even have to make the sandwich yourself. We don’t care. We’re just interested in the (necessarily loose) fellowship of this event and the amazing creativity people inevitably exhibit. In addition, it seems to be a bit of a cultural anthropology lesson. Also: sammiches.
Participation is simple: sometime between Friday, July 25th, and Sunday, July 27th, you post an entry describing a sandwich, post a photo at Flickr, or drop a comment about your sandwich at this post or at Elsa’s. Your sandwich can be whatever you want it to be. You decide.
We’re looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Hell, I’m looking forward to seeing what I come up with.
