The Sandwich Party is officially open (updated)

Okay people. No pushing or crowding. Form a single file line…

We already have one entry from Europe.

You can link to your Sandwich Party posts in the comments of this post or this one or this one. You can add your photos here if you like. We’ll collect them all and put them here eventually.

So. Who’s hungry? Besides me, I mean.

Update: My contribution seems more like an art project than a sandwich. Tasty though:

Ingredients: nectarine, cherries, green gage plum, cantaloupe, cilantro and salt and pepper cheddar cheese from Fields of Grace Farm.

Well, after reading Simon’s post, I am! I’m toddling off to make a Black Velvet Elvis now.

What? Well, you’ll just have to check it out. Give me a while to absorb my coffee.

my sandwich is very simple (and Southern) :

    slice of pineapple
    lettuce
    mayonnaise
    2 slices of bread.

I remember eating this as a child and my brother who lives in Alabama said that he has seen some of his employees bring this sandwich to work for lunch

One bread-sized cube of cold baked lasagna

Tina: Obviously, I chose the plate with great care to match the sandwich. How goofy is that?

Elsa: A pocket-sized fruit sandwich with cheese. Damn near cute, it is. Tasty too.

Oh Shit!! I just knew I had forgotten something! Will mine still count a day late? Here goes trying:

    Some of my favorites:

    1) Simple Cucumber sandwich–2 slices soft white bread of choice; mayo; and slices of “pickling” cucumbers (there is a difference indeed) with salt and pepper to taste….must come from my English heritage.
2)Veggie Delight–Fresh bakery bread of choice; mayo; fresh tomato; cucumbers; spinach leafs; choice of pepper slices (green, red, yellow, orange:) ; avocado slices; salt and pepper to taste.
3)Cream Cheese Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwich–2 slices soft white bread; spread peanut butter of choice, then softened cream cheese; add jelly or preserves of choice. Yuuum.
    3) Grilled Cheese using shredded cheeses–made the same; just with shredded cheeses of choice between slices of bread and grilled with “real” butter.
And, of course, I love my fresh garden tomato sandwiches with bread of choice; mayo, salt and pepper to taste.

All very simple….I experiment for new sandwiches all the time though. Thanks Jag!!

This was so much fun! Your fruit sandwich sounds delicious. it’s making me hungry. Too bad it’s the middle of winter, freezingly bitterly cold, and absolutely none of that fruit is in season or readily available. Maybe I’ll settle for something warmer…
