Despite the terrible temptation to plagiarize Elsa’s excellent post about this, I will make a feeble attempt to write something creative about the upcoming sequel to the original Sandwich Party, which I am calling Return of the Sandwich Party.

See? It’s really easy.  Everybody likes sandwiches. Sandwiches can be made with any ingredients you’d like. You don’t even have to make the sandwich yourself. We don’t care. We’re just interested in the (necessarily loose) fellowship of this event and the amazing creativity people inevitably exhibit. In addition, it seems to be a bit of a cultural anthropology lesson. Also: sammiches.

Participation is simple: sometime between Friday, July 25th, and Sunday, July 27th, you post an entry describing a sandwich, post a photo at Flickr, or drop a comment about your sandwich at this post or at Elsa’s. Your sandwich can be whatever you want it to be. You decide.

We’re looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Hell, I’m looking forward to seeing what I come up with.

That sums it up nicely. I especially like

Sandwiches can be made with any ingredients you’d like. You don’t even have to make the sandwich yourself. We don’t care.

I think I’ll change the title of my post to Sandwich Party, round 2: Screw You! We don’t care!

Also, I call dibs on Sandwich Party 2: Sandwich Boogaloo and Sandwich Party 2: Sandwich Party Harder.

My official sandwich party motto this time around is “Sandwich Party 2: This time, it’s personal.”

Elsa: Those are good, especially Sandwich Boogaloo.

  3. andrea on 07.13.2008

Excellent! In keeping with my recent goal to lighten the fuck up, I am going to try not to berate myself over the quality of my participation in this particular sandwich party.

  4. jagosaurus on 07.13.2008

andrea: Awesome. Also, lighten the fuck up, would ya?

  5. Elsa on 07.13.2008

Andrea, your previous entry was utterly unberateable. It was hamriffic!

    Hamtastic!

    Hamtcular!

And then you tricked someone else into eating that great wodge of ham, which makes it even better!

  6. kilowatthour on 07.13.2008

beyond thunderdome is the obvious choice, of course. but i’m kind of into “sandwich party II: just when you thought it was safe…

i already have a sammich in mind.

  7. jagosaurus on 07.13.2008

Elsa: Hamtacular might be my new favorite word. I mean, besides wodge.

    Dr. K.: Excellent.

  8. Elsa on 07.13.2008

I added some sequel titles. It pains me greatly to leave out Sandwich Party II: The Heretic, but it just didn’t sit right.

  9. Frédérique on 07.14.2008

Yay! A sequel! I can’t wait… and I’m mini-catering a private film festival this weekend, might be the occasion to try mini-sandwiches on unsuspecting people *insert evil laugh*

Also, if this blogger doesn’t already know about the Party, she obviously needs to be invited.

Bizarre. Just the other day I decided to make a sandwich, a very particular sandwich, a canonical sandwich, even, and I began writing the post in my head, figuring the sandwich party was sure to have a sequel. I just thought I’d have to wait longer. To the bakery!

    Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet!

I really want to get in on this one, as I hated that I missed being part of the other sandwich party. I hope to god I’ll remember….
Things have been a little rough around here, and I don’t have an email for you to let you and Trasherati know that I lost one of my dogs yesterday…our 10-year old “Jesse”. It all just happened way too fast for me to wrap my brain around the last few days.

I will mark the “new” sandwich party on my calendar…. :) Thanks for the ear!

Weird, I was just thinking about making a sandwich, like within the next few days or so. That’s just sandwich-spooky.
    cheers, A
