I hope I don’t need to tell you why you should vote for Isoglossia, but in the event that I do, here are some reasons your should not only vote for Isoglossia but also obsessively read the site including the archives, in order, starting right after you VOTE.

  • The author of the site is a tremendously good writer. His writing makes me painfully jealous with all its creamy goodness.
  • This in a really, really funny, affectionate—but not icky—family.
  • The kids are adorable (and excellent writing fodder).
  • The photography is so very good.
  • The post categories (such as ‘I Wake Up Screaming’, ‘Smut”, ‘…a series of tubes…’) are ones you wish you’d thought of.
  • It will force you to learn where Slovenia actually is (Hint.) because you know you have no idea.
  • You’ll feel better about yourself.
  • You hair will be shinier and your skin will be matte perfection.
  • Also? You will, the second your vote, become a ninja. If you already are a ninja, you will, the second you vote, become a … a … SUPER NINJA. Yeah.

    Wow. With such a glowing appraisal, I am drafting my acceptance speech post right this very minute. Meanwhile my highly-paid team of spin artists is crafting a carefully-worded concession post just in case. Your glowing testimonial here almost makes me think that we deserve to win. Of course, it will be much funnier if we don’t, and that is the price of humor.

    In the event that your get-out-the-Hillbilly, Please-vote initiative bears fruit, I only hope that I will be able to live up to my your campaign promises. I mean, I don’t want to have a lot of angry, low-self-esteem-having, nappy-haired, greasy-faced ninjas after me.

    I don’t think voting has closed — I’m pretty sure it’s open through GMT tonight, which would be early AM Saturday in Jagland. It may be that it appears that voting has closed because it will only allow you to vote once in each category.

    Obviously I converted the time zones backwards, which means the polls close at 14.00 on the east coast of the U.S. This is why I never phone my family.
